Williams is a member of the Industrial Relations Society of Queensland
(IRSQ), is the foremost association fostering a understanding of
contemporary industrial relations practice.
The
IRS is an independent, non-partisan association. With similar societies
in the other states and territories, it forms the Industrial Relations
Society of Australia. IRS was founded in 1963 to organise and foster
discussion, research, education and publication within the field
of industrial relations. This serious purpose is balanced by an
active and popular social program. Membership is as an individual:
there is no corporate membership.
The
Society is made up of industrial relations professionals
academics, union officials, students, lawyers, advocates and consultants.
They come from private practice, government, unions, employer organisations
and private companies.
