Founded
in 1951, the Australian Institute of Building (AIB), incorporated
by Royal Charter, is the leading institute for building and construction
professionals, acknowledged for its ability to bring individuals
together who share a common interest in improving the standing of
the building profession and their career within Australia and overseas.
Recruited
to AIB in 2004 in order to arrest a sustained decline in membership
and finances, Troy implemented changes that lead to membership growth
of around twenty percent, a decade of financial deficits turn into
record surpluses and a significant increase in members' satisfaction
with services.
AIB
plays an influential role in the policy debate, introducing changes
to the commercial, technical and regulatory environment in which
building professionals work. The Institute is also recognised as
the accrediting body for universities and the Institute supports
the Australian Young Builders' Alliance.
AIB
is proud of its role in promoting the exchange of information amongst
individuals and accomplishes this through the Construct magazine,
the Construct Newsletter and the Australasian Journal of Construction
Economics and Building.
Troy
left in early 2009 having accepted the role at
Skill360 Australia.
