The
Community Titles Institute Queensland Limited (CTIQ) is the peak
industry body for Body Corporate and Community Title Management
in Queensland. Membership includes body corporate managers, support
staff, committee members and suppliers of products and services
to the industry.
Troy
Williams served as Chief Executive Officer of CTIQ between 2002
and 2004 during his tenure CTIQ's budget deficits were eliminated,
membership doubled, the organisation enjoyed a higher media profile
and the organisation became an effective advocate for body corporate
law reform. Indeed, modifications to the Body Corporate and Community
Management Act (Qld) 1997 saw a Code of Practice for body corporate
managers implemented for the first time.
Troy
left in 2004 after being head-hunted to accept the role with TEYS.
Since his departure, CTIQ has continued to work in conjunction with
industry stakeholders and various educational institutions is endeavouring
to lift the profile of the industry by law reform, education and
training.
To
this day CTIQ still offers professional development seminars and
networking opportunities for all members state wide, as well as
monthly Bulletins and quarterly journals to keep the members updated
on current issues.
